Ancora un articolo sul Calice di Fuoco, viene intervistato Nick Dudman, supervisore all'animazione delle "creature" del film ..si parla degli effetti speciali...inizando dal drago (che abbiamo visto per qualche attimo nel mini trailer).

"It's a pretty powerful beast," says Dudman. "It roars, lashes its tail, and bashes its wings against the side of the cage while spitting fire." Although CGI in film has evolved to stunning proportions, Nick still believes in the tried and true method of animation, even for a fire-shooting model that is 40 feet long.

"The beast's front half is animated via a computer performance system. Other achievements by the props department include silicone aquatronic dummies of four of the youngsters - Hermione, Ron, Cho Chang, and Fleur - for an underwater sequence that was filmed in a 60 by 20 foot tank, and the "extreme" make-up for Mad-Eye Moody, played by Brendan Gleeson. The character is described by unit publicist Vanessa Davies as being like a 'war-torn veteran' who has seen it all and got the scars, but has retained a sense of rationality.

e per finire una dichiarazione inattesa:
I think it's more in line with Two but certainly some of the aesthetics of Three."

"Penso che sia più in linea con il 2° film, ma ha qualcosa dell'estetica del 3°"

Pare che domani il celebre quotidiano USA Today abbia in scaletta una preview del Calice di Fuoco...anche se nell'annuncio c'è un errore, infatti dice:

Come previsto ieri sera USA Today ha pubblicato la sua preview del 4° film di Harry Potter....eccone alcuni estratti:

In Goblet of Fire, the young wizards are "much more complicated," says director Mike Newell, the first British filmmaker to helm a Potter movie. "In the first three films, their characters were defined by what they were up against: a werewolf, a basilisk, a dementor. But this time, the story is how they're developing as people. So the school's Yule Ball is a torture to Harry and Ron because they have to ask girls out, and they don't know how."

In Goblet, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) again faces his mortal foe, Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). "Voldemort is an utterly malignant human creature, a lot more savage and cruel than any invented creature could be," Newell says. "Harry has to find the resources in himself to do battle with him."

Su Daniel:

Radcliffe had to learn to act underwater. "Just keeping your eyes open for a significant time is difficult," Newell says. "We couldn't do anything for more than 15 seconds at a time, which proved very complicated."

Radcliffe says he enjoyed diving, despite some minor drawbacks.

"It did sting a bit in the eyes, but other than that and the ear infections, it was fantastic."

In another scene, he slides down a roof to battle a dragon. "It was pretty much a vertical drop of about 50 feet," Radcliffe says. "I was on a wire going so fast that my mind didn't have time to catch up with my body and go, 'Wow, I'm falling.' It was fun after the first take. But at the beginning, I was absolutely terrified."

In un'altra scena Daniel scivola da un tetto per combattere con un drago "E' stata più o meno una caduta verticale di circa 15 metri" dice Radcliffe "Ero legato a un cavo e andavo così veloce che la mia mente non ha avuto tempo di tenersi in contatto con il corpo "wow, sto cadendo", è stato divertente dopo la prima ripresa, ma all'inizio ero assolutamente terrorizzato".

Sulla scena del cimitero e della morte di Cedric sempre Daniel dice:

"it's not gory or graphic. There's not any blood at all."

"non è macabra, non si vede sangue"
